How to determine the best tilt angle for solar mount system?

We all know that to produce the most energy from a solar panel, the sun must be directed at the panel vertically. However, the sun rises from the east and sets in the west, and the angle is different every moment. To achieve this function, a solar tracker can be used to follow the angle of the sun throughout the day. However, the cost of solar tracking system is very high, and it is impossible for everyone to install them. Therefore, for the inclination angle of the solar fixed bracket, it is necessary to find its optimal angle. This article mainly describes how to determine the optimal inclination angle of the solar system.

First of all, we must understand what is the angle of the solar panel, and the angle of the solar panel is the vertical inclination of the solar panel. The proper slope will vary by geographic location and time of year. Geographically, the angle of a solar panel increases as it moves away from the equator. At latitudes closer to the equator, the sun will remain higher in the sky, meaning solar panels at lower latitudes like these need less tilt. For those higher latitudes, the sun is much lower in the sky, which means that solar panels at these high latitudes need to be tilted more. But the premise of adjusting the inclination angle of the solar panel is to first determine which direction the solar panel is facing, normally facing south or north. The decision to face south or north depends on whether our location is south or north of the equator. The correct solar panel orientation is to face due south for homes located north of the equator, and due north for homes located south of the equator.

The best angle for solar panels is usually at or near your home's latitude. The optimal angle for solar panels can be affected not only by geographic location, but also by how the sun changes with the seasons. During the summer months, the sun will rise higher in the sky. In winter, the sun will sit lower in the sky. This means that in order to get the maximum yield from your solar panels, you need to change the slope every season. For summer or warmer months, the solar panel angle will be 15 degrees minus your latitude; for winter and cooler months, the solar panel angle will be 15 degrees plus your latitude.

However, most solar panels installed for home use are installed on the roof at a fixed angle. This means that the process of changing the angle of the solar panels from season to season can be very difficult. Wintop has launched an adjustable front and rear foot mounting bracket system, which can change the angle of the solar panel by adjusting the height of the front and rear feet. The cost is lower than that of the solar tracking system, but the installation is convenient and quick, and the cost performance is higher.
