International Women's Day, also known as International Women's Day, International Women's Day, or UN Day for Women's Rights and International Peace, is a glorious day for working women worldwide to unite and fight. In 1909, the first National Women's Day commemoration was held across the United States. In 1910, the Second International Socialist Women's Congress was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, and March 8th of each year was designated as International Women's Day. In 1911, working women from countries such as the United States, Germany, Austria, Denmark, and Switzerland held their first commemoration of International Women's Day. On March 8, 1917, female workers in Petrograd, Russia, raised the battle red flag of the "March 8th" festival and held a demonstration against imperialist war, tsarist system, and hunger. In 1924, Chinese women carried out the first commemoration of Women's Day on March 8th. In 1975, during International Women's Day, the United Nations began celebrating March 8th as International Women's Day. In 1977, the 32nd United Nations General Assembly officially decided to designate March 8th as United Nations Women's Rights Day and International Day of Peace. In 1995, the historical roadmap "Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action" signed by 189 governments focused on 12 key areas of concern, incorporating Goal 5 "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls" into the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
