  • December 02, 2022

The Polish government will increase the subsidy level for rooftop photovoltaic and energy storage systems under its Mój Prąd program from December, solar rebates will increase from PLN 4,000 ($888) to PLN 6,000, and tax rebates for energy storage will at least double. From PLN 7,500 to PLN 16,000.

According to the program's website, from December 15, solar subsidies will increase from PLN 4,000 to PLN 6,000, and energy storage rebates will more than double from PLN 7,500 to PLN 16,000. The scheme is open to residential rooftop PV projects from 2 kW to 10 kW and energy storage installations starting from 2 kWh,

The changes will cover the audience for the fourth version of the rebate scheme launched in April. The government has also extended the call for applications for the current version of Mój Prąd from the end of December 2022 to the end of March 2023.

Prospective consumers can submit applications under an agreement stipulating the injection of electricity generated by the micro-installation into the Polish grid. Since the program's launch in 2019, more than PLN 1.7 billion has been allocated to 411,494 PV projects.

The total planned funding is PLN 5.34 billion and applications will be accepted until the funds are exhausted. In the period 2021-2023, up to 855 million zlotys have already been allocated in the third and fourth editions of the program. The increase in the tax rebate is aimed at strengthening Poland's energy security as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues.
